Mazda MX-5 Miata Delivers Fun on Four Wheels

Whether you drove the Mazda MX-5 Miata when it first zipped onto the scene 20 years ago or hopped in the roadster for the first time this year, Roto Mazda has a feeling your experience can be summed up in one word: fun. How are we so confident? Largely because the Mazda auto hasn't changed a bit. And we mean that as a very, very good thing.

Since the MX-5 Miata hit production as…

A partnership formed with Mazda is a partnership formed for a lifetime. At least that's our take here at Roto Mazda. Such seems to be the case with the automaker's union with the Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula (SCRAMP) as well. After ten years holding naming rights to the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) has signed on for another five.

In case you aren't familiar…

Ed Helms Defends The Lorax, Mazda CX-5

Ed Helms, from HBO's "Real Time With Bill Maher," was on to defend "Dr. Seuss' The Lorax" - a children's animated feature coming under fire due to its cross-promotion with Mazda CX-5.

Helms made not that looking at The Lorax as a tale of pure environmentalism was "silly" - "I think that's sort of a very simplistic take away. It's really about - 'just be responsible.' My view of The Lorax is really, 'don…

Mazda2 Conquers the 'Wall of Death'

The 'Wall of Death.' Many have tried to conquer the circular track 31-feet wide, but only few have successfully scaled it, mostly motorcycle daredevils defying the laws of gravity as they spin around and round at a 90-degree angle, with some seasoned experts able to ride with no hands, or even do a handstand. So that got Mazda thinking. Could one of their models accomplish the feat? The Japanese automaker aimed to find out using…

Mazda Says Today is the 'Golden Age' of Automobile Design

What decade do you think of when you think of the 'Golden Age' of automobile design? Maybe you think of the muscle cars of the '50s and '60s, or, perhaps you conjure up images of the iconic roadster automobiles earlier in the century. If you ask Derek Jenkins, Design Boss for Mazda North America, he will politely disagree. He states, "A lot of people would argue this, but we're living in the Golden Age of car design right now."1

2012 Mazda5 Makes U.S. News' Annual List of "Best Cars"

When you hear the term "minivan," what comes to mind? You aren't alone if you said soccer moms and dads with big families- as well as un-inspiring style and performance. But, if we're talking about the 2012 Mazda5, you might want to slightly revise your image of the minivan. Although the new Mazda5 is still very family-friendly, it's also sleek, stylish, and has enough "vroom, vroom" to keep nearly anyone satisfied. And, these are only a few of the reasons the Mazda5 made this year's U.S. News' list of "Best Cars for the Money."

2012 Chicago Auto Show: Mazda Offerings

In our last blog post, we discussed the new 2014 Mazda MX-5 Miata, which will go "back to the basics" as far as Miata design is concerned; but, you won't have to wait as long for the Special Edition 2012 Miata, which will debut at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show in the next couple of weeks.

Mazda Gets Back to the Basics with New 2014 MX-5

If you're old enough to remember the original 1989 Mazda MX-5, it doesn't need much introduction. A sporty, fun car that defined itself as an iconic part of Mazda history, it differed quite a bit (as far as style is concerned) compared to today's Mazda MX-5.  Mazda will make good on its "Zoom Zoom" slogan with the 2014 MX-5 which will go back to being much like the original 1989 model.
